Mission Statement

Provide venue to show foals resulting from PHBA registered parentage

Provide advertising opportunity for donated stallions

Provide incentive to breed for and to show offspring of PHBA registered stallion/mare

1.The Texas Gold Classic Stallion Auction Futurity is for foals sired by stallions whose    service sells according to Contract Agreement.

2.All donated stallions must be registered AQHA and/or PHBA for their foals to be eligible for the Futurity.

3. Foals sired by said stallions that are registered with PHBA* or that have a PHBA registered parent (regardless of color) will be eligible for the following Open and Amateur Futurity classes:

Junior Weanling Fillies and Colts(both Stallions and Geldings)**
Senior Weanling Fillies and Colts(both Stallions and Geldings)
Yearling Fillies
Yearling Stallions
Yearling Geldings
Yearling Longeline***
Two Year Old Snaffle Bit***
Three and FourYear Old Western Pleasure and Hunter Under Saddle***

*PHBA registered foals must show in their respective class and must be registered
**Junior Weanling futurity classes may be combined with Senior if there are less than 3 entries.
***These classes will remain open stakes classes until the 2006 foals reach the appropriate age for the class.

4.  Entry fees will be $110.00, due by July 1.  A late entry fee of double the amount will be accepted  if paid by August1.

5.  Stallion owners whose stallion service sells will receive one (1) free entry for a foal under their ownership.  Mares do not have to be nominated.

6.  Successful bidders receive one (1) free entry if the foal is PHBA registered or has a PHBA registered parent (regardless of the foal’s color/designated “Rainbow”).

7.  Membership in TPEA is required.  All Palomino foals must be registered with PHBA.  All Amateurs must hold a current PHBA or breed association Amateur membership. Copies of registration papers or breeder’s certificate as well as amateur cards should be enclosed with entry fee.

8.  Distribution of Fees will be as follows: A minimum of 60% of funds raised by the Stallion Auction will be paid out as prize money.  The remainder will be used to advertise and purchase supplies, etc. Futurityentry fees minus an office charge of $10.00 will be added to the purse. This may be adjusted during or after the inaugural year.

9. Stallion Owner responsibilities include the following:

A. Nominate the stallion by September 1 in order to be included in national advertising.

B. Nominate the stallion by December 15 in order to be included in local ads and on the website.

C. Agree to breed Buyer’s mare with all normal guarantees including a one(1) year return of service if the mare does not settle.

D. If service does not sell, but Owner wishes to enter the Futurity, he/she may purchase the unsold Stallion service for ½ the advertised fee. A special incentive may be offered the inaugural year only.

E. State all fees involved including but not limited to mare care, veterinarian charges, shipped semen fees and chute fees(if applicable) and notify Texas Gold Classic Stallion Auction committee if said fees are not paid prior to the Futurity.

10.  Buyer responsibilities include the following:

A. Mail sealed bid of at least ½  the advertised fee between January 1 and January 31. Include a check made payable to TPEA.  Bids for Private Treaty must start at $250.00.  The highest bid wins.  Ties will be broken using the postmark date. Any Stallion service not sold by sealed bid can be purchased for ½ the advertised fee until April 30.

B. Agree to pay all charges beyond the Breeding Fee including but not limited to mare care, veterinary charges, shipped semen fees and chute fees (when applicable. No foal can show if said fees are not paid in full.

C. Provide mares that are manageable and halter broke if they are to be sent to breeder’s premises.

11. Texas Gold Classic Stallion Auction responsibilities include the following:

A. Establish a committee of TPEA Stallion Owners to determine procedures based on input from all Stallion Auction donors

B. Enroll Stallions.

C. Advertise locally, nationally, and on website.

D. Communicate to both Buyers and Owners all necessary forms and information.

E. Provide an appropriate time, place, and format for the actual Futurity.

F. Manage and distribute funds in an appropriate and timely manner as established herein.

12.  Texas Gold Classic Stallion Auction committee is authorized by Texas Palomino Exhibitors Association to act as a self-funding and self-regulating committee in compliance with the mandate of Texas Palomino Exhibitors Association. Texas Palomino Exhibitors Association and / or Palomino Horse Breeders of America will not be responsible for any obligation or action of Texas Gold Classic Stallion Auction. Furthermore, Texas Gold Classic Stallion Auction will not be responsible for any obligation other than those outlined in Section 11 above.  Texas Gold Classic Stallion Auction will not be held liable for any dispute between Stallion Owner and Mare Owner.
